Little Boxes

Friday November 25th, 10am -8pm

Skip those long lines at 3am and odd hour super sales, because this Black Friday we have signed up to be part of something truly awesome! We are joining forces with over 70 local boutiques to offer you an exciting holiday shopping experience!

Join us Friday, November 25^th between 10am until 8pm, as well as these other great Portland boutiques for LITTLE BOXES, a city wide shopping event that includes an amazing raffle! Just come on in, ask for a raffle ticket and you’ll be entered to win. Prizes include an iPad, tickets to OVO by Cirque du Soleil, $200 to Wildwood Restaurant and so many more.

Tannenbaum Madness
November 25th- January 1st
Tannenbaum Madness is an event, inviting families and art lovers to bundle up and take a stroll up Alberta Street this holiday season. Over thirty businesses up and down NE Alberta Street create a walking tour of whimsical, artistic, and unique holiday trees on display it in their front windows.

The opening event for Tannenbaum Madness will be on Friday, November 25th. The street will be hopping with festive lights, gallery openings, plenty of restaurants serving some of the best food in town, and a little of the usual madness. Today's the day!

Today was the day! I finally took the paper down from the windows, unlocked the doors, and opened Red Sail's storefront to the public! What a great day too! Thanks to all of the new customers, and the local business people who stopped in to welcome me to the neighborhood!

Japan Disaster Relief Donation by RED SAIL

Growing Culinary Herbs

My Territorial Seed Catalog arrived in the mail last week and I find myself easily distracted with thoughts of my summer garden... What to plant? When to plant? I'll be starting some seeds indoor again this year, and I'm going to try growing some herbs in one of the new Herb Pot Trios ($48) that RED SAIL is now carrying. My go-to cooking herbs are basil, thyme and parsley so I'll probably start with those.
Sagaform's Herb Pots are great for growing herbs (or flowers) on a sunny counter top, and for keeping cut herbs fresh and close at hand during dinner prep. As you can see below, it's pretty simple. The ceramic pot hides the plastic planting pot if your growing plants, or corrals the stems of your cut herbs, keeping the ends in the water bath you pour into the base. The top and bottom halves are separate, so any clean up is super easy.
